'Birthing From Within, ' comprised of three weekly sessions, is a unique approach to labor, birth and parenting preparation based on the book of the same name by Pam England, CNM.

Instead of focusing on patterned breathing and labor and birth facts, these sessions strive to build an instinctive coping mind set through group discussion, birth art, labor coping techniques and the father/partner's role.

Mentor:  Sandy Caldwell, CD(DONA) is the mother of three grown daughters, is a certified birth doula and a postpartum doula who is a nurturing and experienced companion to expectant and new parents throughpregnancy, labor, birth and the 'in arms' period following birth.

As a Birthing from Within mentor-candidate, Sandy befriends, guides, and prepares a beginner for her/his Parenting Journey and Initiation by cultivating self-esteem and the capacity to embrace the unknown. This approach prepares the new mother and father/partner to find their unique ways through the unknown that lies ahead.

* NOTE: If mentor needs to attend a birth, make up classes will be *TBA*
